Types and Uses of Women’s Scarves

Women Scarves are now a fashion staple among women. From being worn to protect the neck during extreme cold weather, scarves have become a fashion accessory that women enjoy using either for formal or casual occasions. The thing about scarves is that they are very flexible. You can always fine tune them according to the occasion.

So when you choose your scarf, don’t be surprised to find that there you actually have many different options. You can find scarves made from wool and cashmere. These fabrics are actually the most typical clothing used for scarves. Silk scarves are also available especially when you need it for formal wear. Then there are also those smooth soothing ones made from pashmina, velvet and cotton which can also be used for either formal or casual occasions.

Wearing a Scarf on Your Body

But in the end, it actually all boils down to how you wear your scarf. You can project your look with the purpose which your scarf was built for.

The most common type of scarf usage is the head scarf. This can be done by either tying the scarf on top of your head firmly planted just above your nape or by enclosing the scarf all over your head, finishing it off by encircling it on your neck.

Another popular way to use scarves is by protecting your neck with it. With this, the tying method is typically used. You can choose to form either an oblong or triangle shape first with the scarf before you drape in around your neck. You can also swirl it around your neck before you finally tie the ends. Just make sure that you tie your scarf’s edge loosely so that you won’t get choked up with it especially if you let some edges off. You can also use elaborate knots at the edge to make it more creative.

Most scarves are used specifically to cover the hair. But actually more and more people use it as a fashion accessory .Some women tie the scarf on their pony tail or attach it firmly on their hair so it can flow out together with the pony tail. However, this scarf style would work best with a long hair. Speaking of accessories, hip scarves are also the in thing these days, which actually started from the rising popularity of belly dancing.
